Streaks and achievements

Notemage has a lightweight progression system layered on top of your study habits. It exists to make showing up every day feel rewarding, not to gamify learning into a grind. There's nothing to grind — progress is tied to real study actions.

#Streaks

Your streak counts consecutive days you've been active in the app. Any productive action — sending a message in Mage Chat, editing a page, reviewing a flashcard, completing a quiz — counts as activity for that day. Streaks are calculated in UTC, so the day boundary doesn't shift around when you travel.

Streak freezes

You start with 2 streak freezes. If you miss a day with a freeze in your inventory, the freeze gets used automatically and your streak survives. Run out of freezes and miss a day → the streak resets to 0.

The freeze is a safety net for the day life gets in the way, not a way to play one day a week.

#Achievements

There are 18 achievements in total, grouped into five categories:

• Study — for hitting study goals (e.g. Daily goal).
• Content — for creating things in your notebooks.
• Social — for friends and groups (e.g. First friend, First group).
• Streak — for streak milestones (e.g. 7-day streak).
• Special — including a meta achievement, All achievements, that unlocks once you've collected the other 17.

Each achievement shows your progress toward it (e.g. "5 / 7 days") so you can see what's next without guessing.

Hitting an achievement also unlocks a cosmetic — a new title, font, color, frame, or profile background you can equip from the customization panel on your profile.

#Where to see it all

Your profile page shows your current streak, longest streak, unlocked achievements, and the cosmetics you've earned. The dashboard surfaces today's streak and pops a celebratory toast whenever you unlock something new.
