Inline AI

Inline AI is the toolbar that pops up when you select text on a text page. Without leaving the page or opening Mage Chat, you can ask the AI to rewrite, summarise, or expand the selection. The result streams back and replaces the selection in place.

#What it does

  • Rewrite — rephrase the selection, keeping the meaning. Useful for tightening up clunky sentences or making something more formal.
  • Summarise — replace a long block with a shorter recap.
  • Expand — turn a few bullet points into a fuller paragraph, or flesh out a sketchy idea.

#How to use it

  1. Open a text page.
  2. Select the text you want to work on.
  3. The inline AI toolbar appears.
  4. Pick rewrite, summarise, or expand.
  5. The new text streams in to replace what you selected.

It's the fastest way to use the AI without breaking your flow.

Inline AI is currently a Pro-only feature. It's disabled on Free and Plus plans. See Plans and limits.
